The Stroke Center at Memorial Hospital provides comprehensive services for Stroke Patients.
- Rapid response Stroke Team that responds 24/7 to stroke patients
- State-of-the-art diagnostic imaging, high speed (multi-slice) CT scan and MRI
- Acute intervention including tPA, the-clot-dissolving medication that can increase changes of a full recovery
- Centralization of stroke patients on a designated inpatient unit staffed by nurses trained in stroke management
- Goal-oriented rehabilitation at Memorial Hospital’s fully accredited inpatient Center for Rehabilitation and progressing into outpatient rehabilitation and home care
- Monitoring of clinical outcomes
- Community outreach and education, individually and with other organizations including area emergency medical services units
